My wife is a honey, packing our own food and bring a cooler along for our long trips, we never get sick from eating our own food. But being a connoisseur of fine restaurants, if their food doesn't kill me, it's a great place to eat.

We did stop at an Applebee's outside of St. Paul for just a hamburger, fries, and a drink to go driving home from the airport, we both got sick off it. Can say the same about Mac's, Burger King, Hardee's Pizza Hut, Culver's, and any number of chain type restaurants. Rather stop by a convenience gas station and buy a loaf of bread and a jar of peanut butter.

We do have privately owned non-chain restaurants at home that serves very good food at reasonable prices, and we never got sick. Screw the chains.

I guess its good that I don't eat fast food.

Occasionally I get the asian chicken salad from Wendys, but I wasn't best pleased by the experience I had where the guy behind the counter gave me the wrong dressing and insisted that it was correct.

How many mandarin chicken salads come with balsamic viniagrette?

Idiot.

Its surprising to me the difference in quality between sit down restaurants that are franchise operated and those which are run by corporate. There are 2 TGI Fridays within a 5 mile area and the difference in quality is staggering - same menu, totally different experience.

lol dude.. if u've ever been to an applebees, outback or any franchise restaurant.. you'd probably had 'special ingredients' anyway...

although, they usually do it if you return ur dish because of some random reason...

watch the movie 'waiting' :P

Craplebees sucks

hehe....we call it crapplebees here, too! what a joke these places are. i'll take a small town mom and pop restaurant over a chain any day.

Agreed.

I don't think I will watch the video even though I would like to.

Can anyone recap?

Does anyone remember that sickening scene at the burger place when the head marketing dude went in to order a burger in that movie Fast Food Nation ?

Sick!

You people would never eat out again if you knew some of the stuff people do to your food. Don't piss off the server. Don't piss off the line cooks by asking for tons of changes or sending your food back. Sometimes they send your food out wrong just to piss you off because you made the order so damn complicated by changing stuff.

Life is a ticket to the greatest show on earth.

I don't enjoy eating cow gut, or dead mammals for that matter..... a known ingredient in cheese.

Don't just open your mouth and prove yourself a fool....put it in writing.

It gets harder the more you know. Because the more you find out, the uglier everything seems.

What I get a lot of time is cheese when I ask for no cheese. That's not exactly a hard thing to remember.
