Hi Everyone,

My husband had his interview for the K3 about 2 weeks ago and we recently contacted the consulate who said that they should be calling him for his passport this coming week. The interview for the CR1 was set for May 14th, we keep going back and forth on wanting to wait for that since it will offer more possibilities once he is here.

How does this work, if he receives the visa for the K3 can he just go interview for the CR1 too? Are they able to change it?

That's the way the K3 was designed to function. Get the K3 and later go back and get the CR-1.

DEFINITELY get the CR-1.

K1 denied, K3/K4, CR-1/CR-2, AOS, ROC, Adoption, US citizenship and dual citizenship

@@@ Go with the CR1 visa, once you in the embassy after your interview you can tell them that you can abandoned the K1 visa regardless that you already have it, they will go to the computer and cancelled your K1 visa and get your CR1 visa. DO NOT CANCEL THE VISA UNTIL THE CR1 WAS APRROVED. The down side is that the $ 131.00 you paid is nonrefundable. You could easily wait 2 weeks because thats most of us did, is THAT WE trash the K3 and went with the CR1. You must have money to burn, put it this way at least you don't have to fly back for your CR1 visa, just wait until you get it there. GOODLUCK!!!
