I and my wife had an interview last thursday (4th). She asked couple of questions like where we met, if we have kids, she looked our pictures, asked me who some people were on pictures. She looked our bills, she took our latest statement of the bills, our lease and she took three pictures..

She didnt stamp the passport. She put pending case section 245 AOS name. She said we would the decision in mail. My wife told her that she was expecting an answer today since our lawyer forgot to file for EAD and he made another mistake on the forms, put it as my wife petitioned for someone else in 2006 which is not true because she was married to someone who is an american citizien in 2006.

Officer gave us a paper and checked the item, decision is being held for file review and decision will be mailed in 60 days. My wife again asked if thats gonna take that long because we are having financial problems since i dont even have my EAD yet.

Officer said, everything looks OK but she was swamped that day and decision wouldnt even take that long.

Today will be the 7th day since the interview.

Should i worry ?

The bad thing is that, my EAD is not even here, we had to re apply for it and waiting is just killing us.

Please advise ..

Sounds like a normal procedure. Some people get told they are approved at the interview, others do not. Note that the timeline form here has this question, so it is a common occurance. We did not get a stamp either, but we were told it was approved. Our IO seemed pretty miserly with the stamp ink as we did ask for it. When asked the reason, Alla said "so I can go to Ikea in Montreal" I guess he didn't think that was an important reason. :)

This is probably a silly question, but what is the benefit of getting such a stamp, prior to receiving the green card?

At least you were given some sort of a timeframe to work with. We got a paper, but it didn't have much on it except a phone number of the IO's supervisor . We were told our case is still in background checks. We left the interview without knowing if we are approved or not. Apparently the IO will decide one way or another after the checks are completed. I would not worry, it sounds like everything went fine and you just have to wait. Didn't your lawyer go with you?

Don't just open your mouth and prove yourself a fool....put it in writing.

It gets harder the more you know. Because the more you find out, the uglier everything seems.
