hi! when are u planning to take your nclex exam? wanna trade study advices and tips...???

No date yet but my papers are already with the FL BON for review and I await for the authorization to take the exam.

I work 40 hours a week with every other weekend schedule 3 to 11 shift. During my work days I dedicate 3 hours to read, thats from 9am to 12. I grew up waking up early so even if I arrive home from work at already 12 midnight I still wake up at 6am and by 9 I stop and start reading. I am very lucky to have a husband who helps in the household chores. During my off days, I dont read at all because I want to spend all my free time with my husband and the boys if they are with us during the weekend.

I talk while reading so I usually read in the pool area where it is quiet.

There are three tips I can give as study advice R R and R.....READ READ and READ :)

Goodluck to us :)

I assumed that the "reason" was reasons why it's the wrong job, but I wanted to list why it's the right job, too.

Degree/University: BS, Aerospace Engineering 1999, California Polytechnic State Univ., San Luis Obispo

Degree/University: MS, Aerospace Engineering 2001, California Polytechnic State Univ., San Luis Obispo

Recent Job: Computer Programming / Systems Engineering

Reason (why it's the right job): I was always fascinated with airplanes and spacecraft since I was a kid. My mom said that at 3-years old I would want to go to the airport rather than to the park and would sit and watch the airplanes take off and land. The field is interesting and always changing. You're always learning something new. It's challenging work.

Reason (why it's the wrong job): There's a LOT of paperwork involved. I usually spend more time fighting bureaucracy than doing technical work. The aerospace field is very volitie: programs can get cancelled with little-to-no warning so there's a constant worry that your work will disappear even if you stay on budget and on time. This is especially difficult for me since I like stability.

Money is unimportant to me as long as I enjoy what I'm doing. That being said, pay is decent, but not phenomenal.

i agree with you! i work too as a nursing assistant! i use to work 40 hours a week, 11 - 7 am but i cut my hours to 32 hours a week and also every other weekend...i wanted to concentrate studying! i bring my notes everywhere with me and i read and read and read the same topics over and over again with me...it retains in my memory more that way plus i also read and read and read the rationales to the questions i answer, sometimes i print them out and bring my paper with me always (esp the ones from the saunders cd)...i use the kaplan course book and basics book, saunders comprehensive CD, kaplan q bank trainer and soon will register for the kaplan q bank. its hard to work and study at the same time too...but i like working 11 - 7 shift because i always get time to sit down and go over things at work...minimum of about 2 hours per night and on not so busy nights sometimes even 3 - 4 straight hours studying in the hallway...good luck to us...my documents are recently being reviewed for the CES CGFNS...have to go thru that to register here in massachusetts...

June 2004...i sat down on the bench to tie my shoelaces (literally) not knowing i would marry the man i just sat down next to...
