Hello everyone. I was wondering if EAD and AP documents are taken from you at the AOS interview. I think I saw in a thread that someone said they hand em back to you if you're not approved so I was wondering if they keep them if you're approved. I'm planning to leave US two weeks after the AOS interview so if they keep the AP documents, and if I dont have the green card by then I dont know how I'd be able to leave..Thanks for ur help in advance.

you will want the I-551 stamp in your passport... do not rely on the AP document after card approval

YMMV

Yes, most people have reported that the USCIS takes your EAD and AP at the time of interview, mainly because once you're residency is approved, you no longer need them. The best thing would be to tell them on your interview that you have a pending trip two weeks later to see what they recommend.

We received the EAD and AP after card approval. Go figure. We did ask for the I-551 stamp and were told it would no tbe given to us if we did not haqve an "emergency" or a "planned trip" within the time before we would receive the green card. I presume this means they would give it to us if we DID have a planned trip. Just cover this with them at the interview
