I am starting to worry. I sent my packet on March 6 and the check was cashed on Mar. 10, until now, no NOA1 nor biometric appointment letter. How long does it usually takes to get it? I know the site says an average of 7 days and I have been reading some of the posts here. I need an advice. Thanks to those who will respond.

It took 13 days for me to receive my NOA1 or extension letter after I mailed my application and I'm in AZ.You are in CA you should have your NOA1 at least?Maybe you should make a call or contact USCIS and check the status of your application?I know how it feels I freaked-out too thought my packet was lost in the mail.Good luck!

Just an update. I called the 1-800# after 30 days of sending my I-751 which is April 6 and the immigration officer was very helpful. He made a speedy request for my extension letter & biometric appoinment. He even gave me a reference & confirmation nos. He said that within the next 30 days, I would be getting those documents. I hope so. I just wanna make sure that it hasn't been sent thats why I still dont have it. And he made sure of that. I also made an infopass appointment on April 13. I made this a day before I called the 1-800#. Should I still go or its just a waste of time coz I would be told the same thing I was told by the IO on the 1-800#?

Infopass is pretty useless - this morning I went to one here in Chicago. I already did my biometrics on 4/2 but never received NOA1 - I need it to travel, I'm covered for work with my DL. The lady was nice enough to make a service request but from looking at the case number she wrote down it's the one from the cashed check and not the one from biometrics.

She said she hopes this will get me a NOA1 but in case it does not I can come when the expiration time on my GC is coming to an end and they'll give me a 60-day extension stamp! If nothing happens, we have a very efficient immigration specialist in the congressman's office and I'll have her inquire.

  • 1 month later...

An update after 2 months, i got my biometric appt. letter on May 4 and I was scheduled for an Infopass appt. on May 6. My husband and I still decided to go to my infopass appt. coz I still haven't received my NOA1. On my Infopass appt., my passport was stamped with I-551 stating I am work authorized for a year or until May 6, 2010. At least for now, I can give a sigh of relief. I hope my journey will be faster. Goodluck to the rest.
