Insuring your Canadian House

Ok so my Sister and her Husband still own a house in Canada (Calgary) - but they live in Nebraska - have lived in the States now for 10 years.

They have house insurance on their house in Canada and in Nebraska with State Farm. When she originally investigated all this the Canadian insurance company told her that she would have to have a combined insurer in the States (ie one that would insure both houses - basically worked cross border).

So this is what they have been doing, however the result is that with State Farm they pay twice as much to insure their U.S. house as they would with another company.

Does anyone here have a house in Canada that they have insured which is completely separate from any U.S. house insurance they have and if so can you let me know the name of the Canadian insurer?

Thanks!

I know Economical does this. I have a cottage in Canada that I insure with them. From what I understand, they are one of the few Canadian insurers that does. CUMIS used to as well, but I'm not sure if they do anymore. Expect to pay 50% more.
