My Fiancee is filling out the I134 at the moment and we have some questions.

Supporting Evidence:

"A" in the instructions state that we need a statement from an officer at the bank where she has an account. (This might be a dumb question, asking anyway). Will a bank statement be enough for this? My immediate answer is no.

Tax returns - do we need the latest one? Does it need to be notarized? This (tax returns) isn't stated in the instructions at all.

I-134 Form:

Question 7:

1. Depost in a bank, does this need to be the same as the amount on the supporting evidence?

2. Personal property, does this need to be certified, i.e. do we need supporting evidence for this? (She makes enough to be 125% of poverty guideline.)

Question 11: Does this need to be ticked as "i intend" or not. We just don't know with this line, there are no instructions.

US Embassy and Consulate General Discussion

You are almost there and now you have to deal with the embassy. This is the place to post your experiences or questions related to this last step before moving to the US. Topics relating to I-134's, packets sent from consulate and medical & police certificates should be posted here.

YMMV

You use the statement (from the officer) if your going to show you have enough savings to be considered as an asset.

Tax returns - do we need the latest one? Does it need to be notarized? This (tax returns) isn't stated in the instructions at all.

Yes, you will need the latest one(s). Call the IRS to get your tax transcripts.

I-134 Form:

Question 7:

1. Depost in a bank, does this need to be the same as the amount on the supporting evidence?

If your using it as an asset, yes.

2. Personal property, does this need to be certified, i.e. do we need supporting evidence for this? (She makes enough to be 125% of poverty guideline.)

If your income is sufficient, and you do not need assets to cover it, you will not need it.

Question 11: Does this need to be ticked as "i intend" or not. We just don't know with this line, there are no instructions.

Check neither and put this in the space provided: N/A (K1 Visa process for permanent residence)

My Advice is usually based on "Worst Case Scenario" and what is written in the rules/laws/instructions. That is the way I roll... -Protect your Status - file before your I-94 expires.

Bank letetrs optional. Bank statements optional. Choose either or both. If using a banl letter follow the instructions for format.

Tax returns, one year, not notarized. Copy with w-2/1099 or transmittal wihout w-2/1099

No. Bank balance information optional if income exceeds guidelines. You can give a bank letter and leave this blank if you want.

Question 11: "If she is a good little wifey and does as I tell her" LOL No, the answer is "NA, K-1 visa"

in reference to the affidavit of support, i believe that there is no longer a requirement for anything to be notarized. the new I-134 form does not state the notarization is required and when you sign it, you are affirming that what you are submitting is true. (the old I-134 did have a place for notarization.) make sure you are working with the most current forms in all cases.

I have a pdf version of the submitted form 1040. Do I need anything else?

Tax returns, one year, not notarized. Copy with w-2/1099 or transmittal wihout w-2/1099

Question 11: "If she is a good little wifey and does as I tell her" LOL No, the answer is "NA, K-1 visa"

Can you be more specific about w-2/1099? And what is the "transmittal without w-2/1099"?

(She's applying for me, so she's the one with the support at this point in time... If I behave she'll give me some money...)
