It does say to bring all of your original evidence, wasn't going to because they never wanted to see it before at St. Paul, but this time they did. Since we applied in March of last year, with new tax returns, joint purchases, etc., elected to send those to our I-751 application with a gentle reminder it's been over a year since we sent our evidence for that. So they had the same stuff for the I-751 as for the N-400.

They sure in the hell don't ask for joint utility bills in the N-400, but believe the USCIS has a bug on requesting those at the interview, so included those as well, plus brought along the originals, cable, gas, electric, and cell phone bills. Didn't get this information from the USCIS, but from friends that were hit with the same problem. It does say three years of tax returns, and they wanted to see our originals on that.

It may be nice to read about people that don't have to show original evidence and are only in for 15 minutes, wife was in for 43 minutes, her IO was a real stinker, so you have to be prepared. She passed and took her oath a month later. That oath is another joke depending on where it's held and how many people they want to gather before they schedule one. St. Paul was dragging that out over a year, with my senators help, set up a special field office oath ceremony for Wisconsin residents. So we didn't have to wait that long.

well I had with me our taxes since we're together, mortgage papers for the house, bank statements, cellphone bills, marriage certificate, her original proof of citizenship, all bills were with our both names on it. Maybe the guy was having a bad day or something like it, however told me that I pass the test and when I bring the evidence I'll have my oath ceremony.

everything with our names, still was not good enough.

I find this rather strange your experience.

So what other documents do you need to bring ? It sounds like you already showed them everything

Do you have to wait now for another appointment or can you request an info appoitment or are they just going to send out the letter when the oath is ?

I think you should take your wife next time - hopefully that will make things easier.

I'm planning to go again tomorrow and tell them that I have more stuff with me. I'm hopping that they will accept it without appointment, just as walk in. Seriously I have doubts but it's worth it to try.

Good luck to you, Kasper!

Do you mind sharing your timeline? I'm going to apply this June, and will also go through the Hartford local center.

Just pay attention to the details. I mailed my application on 11.03.2008, and my interview was scheduled for 03.24.2009. I really thought it was short period for naturalization process, however now is extended up to May.

Thank you for sharing. At least the timeline is much quicker than the official data of 14+ months for Hartford! That's good news. Good luck, let us know how it goes during the final interview.
