I dont think you need to pay any tax before leaving the country and it is not PDOS that you should attend CFO, its the Counselling. Check threads on CFO.

Forgiveness is not saying what someone did to us is right. It is saying, "I'll let God straighten this out"..

Not sure if it is different for a spouse. I used to have to PHP 550 to leave Manila. You might post this in the Philippine forum here:

The pdos is required by all Filipino after their k1 or k3 visa is received , as required by philippine law from the department of forighn affairs . For adjustment into a new country . And how to travel in international flight , it says about it when my fiancee got her visa and it was attach to the plastic envelope that was attached to her yellow envelope that cant be opened . She allready has the counseling certificates and marriage certificate from cfo before while we were still in uscis

If I remember it right, the Tax is Php 750. What visa did you apply for? Check out this site for more information about CFO/PDOS. http://lydialuisa.blogspot.com/2009/03/cfo...rogram-for.html

MY K1 EXPERIENCE blog...click on this link..

My K1 visa has already been approved. I had been really frustrated to find more info about K1 when we were still under the process. Some blogs have been useful. Now, that I completed the K1 process, I wish to share my own experience. So click on the link if you need more info about K1. The blog includes the requirements, med exams, questions on the interview, CFO and more. I hope that it will help. Thanks. Cheers and good luck.. :)

Many are confused about PDOS and CFO. Basically, it is the same thing. It is something that you have to attend before you leave the country. The difference is PDOS is for overseas workers while CFO is for CR1, IR1, K1 and K3 holders.. :)

To newbies.. you can check out this site for more info about CFO.. :)

The pdos is a seminare for all types of visa , where you are living perminantly overseas . There is 2 types (1) for workers (2) and the other for family based visa k1 k2 k3 k4 and childreen under the age of 14 is exempt for the pdos . But needs to be registered in the Department of Forighn Affairs office of the President using the cfo . My fiancee allready has her Guidance & Counseling Certicate of Attendance , and Commission on Filipinos Overseas Guidance and Counseling Certificate , and the Marriage Seminare that has my name on the certificate . When my fiancee recieved her visa , inside the colored bag was instruction that said she must attend the pdos and the plastic bag was attached to the packet yellow/brown envelope that says do not open can only be opened by immigration officer at the port of entry .

P 1620 to PTA

P750 terminal fee.

Exactly what we had to pay at the airport. 1620 for the Travel Tax. Trisha could not get her boarding card until she showed she paid it and there is a desk in the airport that accepts payment and a receipt. 750 terminal tax. The terminal tax was increased from 550 over a year ago. Note some tickets will already have the travel tax paid. If they are bought locally in Phil that is usually the case. Get it from the airline in the US or via the web and it usually is not paid.

Love forever,

Dale & Trisha

oh yeah.. sorry i didnt clear that up.. I mean CFO Guidance and Counseling. :) And yeah there are 2 types. One is for those who want to work abroad and the other is for those who intend to live abroad. :) Basically, they are both PDOS. But oftentimes, workers refers to PDOS while intending immigrants refers to the CFO Guidance and Counseling (so as not to confuse the two).

Sorry for inaccurate info.. :)
