i live close enough to the border (québec/vermont) that im in pretty good shape for cross-border shopping. i do wish that ketchup potato chips would catch on here (please please please). last yr for my birthday, my lovely british boyf was going to send me kechup potato chips (aww.) but he couldnt find any so he just mailed me regular ones with a packet of ketchup rubber-banded to them. not the same thing, but he got a lot of points for creativity and cleverness.

understandably, or maybe not, i have cravings for all things british. (well not all. not bovril. eww.) and its nice to have our friendly neighbor to the north carry many items that i can find in the UK but not in the US.

while im here, id also like to say that i think there should be a constitutional amendment to change the name of 'donut holes' to 'timbits'.

edit: whoa. liquid bovril is on that grocery list! i hope i didnt offend any aficionados.

these?

ToffeeCrisp.jpg

I was thinking of those toffee chocolate candy things that usually come out around Christmas...

That's it!!! He also loves Toblerone (I think that's the one that comes out around Christmas time... at least more in force than the rest of the year).

Thanks, Marilyn!

I could use a coffee crisp or Mr Big bar right about now...

the funny thing is I hardly ate chocolate bars when I was in Canada but now that I can't have the ones I like, I miss them :(:P

I don't know if it's on Krikit's list or not...perhaps she should add it! Tetley Tea. I'm a huge coffee drinker (duh!), but I do adore a tea when I'm feeling under the weather, or just because...and I haven't had a good cup of tea since I've been here. I only drank Tetley when I was in Canada, and I'm sure that's why I haven't had a good cuppa!

I have found Tetley Tea, just like the Canadian brand... in the blue box.... maybe it's only available in certain states? I'll only drink Tetley.

Not food... but, are you able to find J Cloth in your area? After looking in a few stores in the US, I gave up and brought some during my next trip...

No they don't sell them in the US, I actually e-mailed JCLOTH headquarters in Mississauga. My Mom brought me 6 boxes at Christmas time. I looked all over for them as I was fed up of the crappy cloths here, Jcloths are da bomb!

Can you get Mars bars in LA? I can't find them in Atlanta. I'm vexed that I've moved to the country that makes my favourite candy bar but to a place where I can't buy it.

Thanks - I love them too and I'll stock on them (I do wash them but after a while the material is gone)

I have a WoW friend in Maine that constatnly taunts me. "I was thinking of you last night as I sat on my porch eating a Mars bar."

Oh well. I'll bring Mars bars and proper Cadburies bars back with me if I get to go to Dad's wedding in May. Come on, AP!
