I have never seen a direct flight from Manila to Detroit searching from the US. Someone here claimed to have found one searcing from the Phils. I don't know why there would be a difference where you are searching from.

I sure would like to find one. Not having a layover in Japan or Hong Kong would make the trip much better!

me either. usually its las vegas, san fran or LA that has direct flight from phil and its usally PAL too... i have a friend who's living in detriot (or 20 mins away from detriot to be specific) and her option was a connecting flight from narita airpot (japan)... then head to detriot. so manila-narita-detriot

thats better than having two connecting flights like mine before lol (manila-hk-san fran- then denver as my final destination)... have a safe flight!!! God bless

I have never seen a direct flight from Manila to Detroit either. I don’t think we will ever find it. The best price I could find was one layover of Manila to Taiwan, then Taiwan to Los Angeles on EVA Airlines for $702.00 total. Then you can get an inexpensive direct flight from Los Angeles to Detroit on Spirit Airlines for about $160.00 total.

If you are worried about the layover in Japan do not. On our Northwest flights from Manila to Detroit you got off the plane in Japan, went through the security check about enough time for a bathroom break and then back in line to board the same plane.

No direct flight from MNL to DTW as the plane does need to refuel and even if you don't change planes (no connection, etc), you still need to get off the plane for at least 30mins for refueling and technical checks.

There is a nonstop flight from MNL-Las Vegas??? How much does it usually cost? I am hoping to travel to MNL to pick my wife up, but if I can't get the time, I was planning on picking her up at LAX and then driving back to Vegas...

I think the best option is connecting through Taipei. I do it almost everytime I go to the Philippines...it's quick and painless and there is plenty to do in the airport if you get held up there for awhile. I'd definately recommend EVA Air over China Airlines....most of their planes have tv's on the seatbacks and you can watch movies on demand :pop:

Yeah, I've never found a direct flight to Detroit either...I've been to philippines 3 times and each time had a layover in Japan before going to Detroit and on to pensacola...but like damulag said before, dont worry..the layover usually isn't very long..Not like the one my baby and I will have on April 10 in Guam, (7hrs and 30 mins(manila, tokyo,Guam,Texas,Pensacola) I'm going March 30th to pick her up after 1 year and 3 months of being without her and i don't care how long the flights or layovers are, as long as we we'll be together ,just remember when your done with all the long boring traveling you'll have to do,you'll be in your loves arms forever. :D

How about these...

> Manila - Tokyo - Seattle - Detroit > Northwest Airlines > $1005. > Total travel time = 23 hours 42 minutes.

> Manila - Tokyo - Atlanta - Detroit > Northwest Airlines > $984. > Total travel time = 22 hours 10 minutes.

MNL-Vegas usually cost $600 plus to $800 plus on philippine airlines. BUT PLS dont quote me on this one... these are just the prices i usually see on their website. pls do visit their site and they dont fly on vegas everyday (maybe every other day). i suggest to visit their website for more info

to edit: prices change on the dates and depends on peak or off peak season...
