Faster spouse visa? Apply in Egypt after 6 months residence, or apply from USA?

How long would it take for each?

Other fast (HOW LONG?) options to meet, marry and be together?

THANKS!

There's two options for people to marry and be together: DCF in which the US citizen is a resident of their spouse's country and files directly in the country itself or the other way, in which the US citizen remains in the US and files from there. Read the DCF forum for a better understanding of how that works.

How long would it take? Nobody knows for sure how long the process takes.

It's a simple question: I just asked which was faster, or if there is even a faster option.. i can never find info here easily that's why i ask at the forum, and the time does not have to be exact.

Depends on your service center in the US. California or Vermont?

no service center yet

The service center is determined by your state of residence in the USA. Please read the guides.

Thanks to you both for trying to help, but service center location wasn't my question.

There is no simple "fast" answer.

Do your research.

If you had read the guides you would understand that the two service centers have vastly different historical processing times. Without knowledge of the service center, we can't help you make an estimate.

Sorry we're not magic 8 balls. Thing is there's no clean cut answer to your question. Ppl have done DCF and had hang ups in their case that made it take longer than someone who has filed in the states. It depends on the case, it depends on the couple, it depends on name checks, it depends on the sponsor...you get the picture. It's not a *simple* question. We all have different experiences even those who have gone through Cairo. Have you read the forum at all to notice that?

An attitude adjustment may do you some good, also.

What do u think i am doing? I told u I asked a simple question. I thought the people here would have some kind of experience an answer, or opinion. If you don't you didn't need to post.

Altho we would love to give you a timeline it unfortunately doesn't work like that. There are no fast or furious answers to applying in Egypt or in the states!

If you want to live in Egypt then I suggest going for the DCF. Our process lasted a year and we did a DCF.

This process is neither easy nor fast.

Good luck!

Noobs. Sheesh!

Don't just open your mouth and prove yourself a fool....put it in writing.

It gets harder the more you know. Because the more you find out, the uglier everything seems.

There is no simple answer but a quick and dirty:

K3 for CSC ~ 100 days for the NOA2 + 30 days at NVC + 30 days till interview = 160 days

CR1 for CSC ~ 70 days for the NOA2 + 60 days at NVC + 30 days till interview = 160 days

K3 for VSC ~ 130 days for the NOA2 + 30 days at NVC + 30 days till interview = 190 days

CRI for VSC ~170 days fir NOA2 + 60 days at NVC + 30 days till interview = 260 days

DCF - 180 day residency needed and 30 days until interview = 210 days

This is making some wild@ss assumptions and having the centers working off of the time lines they are currently running as of today's date.

#1 - that you have no RFEs

#2 - that you don't get help up in security checks

#3 - your on TOP of every detail or have an attorney who doesn't sit on paperwork

#4 - that ABSOLUTELY everything runs like clockwork

To say these are absolute rough estimates is an understatement....

Now - for homework - I would highly suggest looking at the fun that is AP. If you think this is frustrating...oh, and going thru Egypt - I'm betting on AP.
