Tax transcripts AND W2s/1040s?

Hello VJ friends,

I just got off the phone with NVC. The operator told me that Tax Transcript itself is not sufficient and that I've to send W-2s and 1040s. Is this true? I thought sending tax transcript was sufficient. Even the I-864 form says either/or "You must provide either an IRS transcript or a photocopy from your own records of your Federal individual income taxreturn for the most recent tax year."

I've both and I can send both. I just don't want to get RFE for sending too much information. Has anyone just sent the transcript and got the case completed?

Tax transcripts, according to the instructions, are sufficient.

You can send both, but it is redundant, and as long as the W-2/1040's match each other, you should have no issues.

I see you mentioned the I-864, and that says ither transcripts or copies of recent tax return, etc. so if the instructions say that, go with transcripts.

Im planning on sending transcripts and my recent federal return.

When calling the NVC for advice - I recommend calling two, three, four times - every operator will tell you something different...

Generally, we called four times for each issue and followed the advice of the majority.

By the way - we sent in transcripts without W2s, etc and did not get an RFE.

Thanks Catie I think I'll just send tax transcripts only as well.

I sent my 1040 and all w-2's and 1099 associated with it and had no problem. I didn't use the tax transcript at all.

Stick with the tax transcripts only. I had no issues(RFE) got by nvc no prob. Goodluck
