guys,

So i,ve been trying to figure it out for quite some time already and i have no idea how to handle this!

My hubby is on unemployment till end of aprill 2009. Our friend filled out already I-864 for me(joint sponsor). However my hubby doesnt know how to fill out his I-864.

What should we put in CURRENT INCOME filed ? i know that he has to count his unemployment benefits towards his income. And here is the question! Do we need like a special letter from unemployment office saying how much he gets now? i mean as of 2009?

the only from we have is the one that he got when he applied for unemployment, which shows how much he is going to get. The second form is the one which they sent him to file for taxes!

What shall we put in current income? The actual amount he gets a month? let's say $700/mo ? Maybe we should attach a letter explaing this?

i have no idea what to do!

please help! we want to send the AOS packet tomorrow!

Unemployment is considered income.

If that is his current income, put that. You could attach a letter explaining where it's coming from (would take the place of a letter from the employer)

My Advice is usually based on "Worst Case Scenario" and what is written in the rules/laws/instructions. That is the way I roll... -Protect your Status - file before your I-94 expires.

WARNING: Phrases in this post may sound meaner than they were intended to be. Read the Adjudicator's Field Manual from USCIS

Thank you for fast reply!

Can he write this letter by himself? or it should be from the Unemployment office?

so now..if his benefits are going to end up in April 2009.

how should i count his current income!

lets say he gets $300/week so $1200/mo

should i put 1200 x 4 as his current income and attach a letter saying why we came up with this amount?

we have joint sponsor, however i want to fill this form correctly without any issues!
