I recieved my petition approval for an I-130 Immigrant Petition for Relative on March 12, 2009. Now it is being sent to the NVC.

Can anyone tell me what to expect now (as far as time, what will happen, etc)?

My wife (her mother), who is Brasilian, is here in the US and has her permanent visa and also has been here long enough that she has had her conditions removed. My stepdaughter, who we are trying to bring here, is 12 and still in Brasil. She is currently living with her grandmother, who is in poor health.

From talking to my lawyer, I know she will have to go for an interview in Brasil but will she go alone? She is only 12. If not, who will be required to go with her? (I am the petitioner but as I said, my wife has a permanent visa without conditions)

What documents will she/we (?) need to take? Is there an ADDITIONAL fee we must pay? (my gosh, I've already paid more than I ever expected already!)

I would appreciate any advice/information I can get.

Thanks

Follow the shortcuts found here once your case it as the NVC http://www.visajourney.com/wiki/index.php/...he_NVC_ShortCut and it will speed up the process. Yes you have to pay a little more. When my step; kids went they were intersted in the relationship between my self and their father which was the proof I sent as I had visited them a few months before. Make sure if the father of the child is still alive he will grant permission fo the child to come to the US. This was needed at the NVC stage.

I could not attend the interview but the father went with the boys, it would look good of you were both to go to the interview if possible.

Good Luck :)

Why is it that the only one who can stop the crying is the one who started it in the first place?
