I am posting this topic for my friend, she is worried about the interview. Here is the story.

My friend married to her husband and then divorced because her husband's mother was applying for the visa for him as single to go to the US. So they decided to get divorce so that her husband could get the visa and go to the US. Then they remarried again once her husband had his greencard.

After he got his greencard, he then applied the visa CR-1 for my friend and she got the interview but she was not approved for the visa because she told the interviewer about why they got divorced at the first time. The interviewer said that her husband was lying when he applied for his own visa that time that he was single. The interviewer said that this case would be sending back to the US and then she didnt hear anything about the case for 10 yrs because they both got scare about what the interviewer said.

Now her husband is a US citizen and all the sudden, he got the letter from NVC stating about the visa, so she is now doing this process at NVC but she also got scared what if at the interview this time, the interviewer asks her why they got divorce the first time and if she says the truth about why, then she will get dinied again.

P.S. They both didn't follow up at all for the first time about the visa until 10 yrs. The case comes up and they both also surprise.

Should she say the same thing about why they got divorced the first place? Or what else can she say? Please help.

Are you kidding me? getting divorced for such a ridiculous reason shows how much your friend and her husband are reckless about a sublime thing like Marriage... and she'll get Denied!

If you all you have is to offer is judgmental opinions, keep them to yourself. I don't think the OP asked for your opinion on their marriage and subsequent divorce. She asked for some immigration advice.

Note:

Please fill out I-130, wait 6 months for approval, then 3 more months for an interview. (Unless of course we've bombed your country into the stone age, then you qualify for expedited processing.)

Welcome to the USA!!!

I beleive they can't hide the past record, keep it as honest as possible. Yes the coule had a hard time I the past, but have lived and learned in the past 10years how to love each other.

LOL So where did you pick up your marriage nirvana? I'm wondering..... if you shouldn't write one of those self help books for the rest of us.

As for the OP's question. I'm pretty sure she can say it was family based interference which they outgrew with each others true love for each other, and she better have a lot of proof of how they stayed in contact. Best of luck for them. I can't imagine a long distance relationship for 10 years, or maybe they're together... but anyway, it sounds strange and if I were the consulate I would definitely need answers.

Peace,

Mariah

I'm pretty sure you'll be the one who will be writing books soon... about "Why marriages don't Work" :D
