Having your SO come from a country like Lebanon has been an experience like no other.....

I need some info from someone who possible has been through the same thing...

Here goes: My now husband came to the US like most everyone else's. He has his medical review in Lebanon, but didnt receive anything for himself from the Dr who did his medical. He recieved the envelope which needed to be given to the consulate which he did during his interview.

He came to the states with nothing from any Dr showing a medical exam or any vacc. ever being received. From the USCIS site it says that he does not need a new medical exam becuase he received one within the last 2 years.

So now my issue is if we dont need the medical portion of the I-693 filled out then how do we "prove" it? Ive been on thep hone with about 10 civil surgeons offices today and they act as if this is the first time they have ever recieved a phone call like this before.

Has anyone else's SO came from their country with not medical info and you've been through the same thing??

This a VERY frequent topic, search I-693 using the Google box above.

Also read the instructions with the form, it says K-Visas DO NOT need a full medical done if the one for visa was less than a year ago.

Simply have a US Civil surgeon do the vaccinations part.

If you do not have a vac-record from foreign country, you can be tested and/or vaccinated for what is required for immigrations by your family doc, local clinic, health dept, etc... Where ever it costs the least, and then bring the record to a US Civil Surgeon for transfer to the I-693 for adjustment of status.

You don't need to "prove" it. CIS should have the medical exam results that he handed in at POE, if they haven't misplaced them. If a Civil Surgeon tells you otherwise, they are lying. The only thing left is to get his vaccinations in order. Unfortunately, since he wasn't given a completed vaccination worksheet (DS-3025) from the doctor in Lebanon, he will either need to get all the required vaccines (again?) or do a test (titer test) to see if he already had them.

Yes, most Civil Surgeons are complete crooks. They pretend that they don't know what you are talking about in order to get you to cough up several hundred for a full exam. Some will even lie to try to scare people into doing a whole new exam (by saying they will have problems if they don't do a full exam). These are white collar criminals, try to find the one that is the least corrupt.
