Hi visajourneyers! I got lots of questions here.

Just today I received my Initial interview appointment date and wondering why I never received mail or email regarding my EAD and Advance Parole status, and I assume also that Interview notice will arrive after EAD n AP approval, is this normal?

Also, in the interview notice, there are documents that I need to bring with me ,sorry for asking too much and help is really appreciated, I just wanna make sure.

1. Government issued photo identification (is it ok if I present my passport with maiden name and just bring marriage cert? i do not have any)

2. All those establishing eligibility for Lawful permanent Residence(what's this?)

3. Supporting evidences of relationship (i only have photos of wedding, insurance , joint acct back in my country where the certification of joint acct has my maiden name, certified copy of marriage cert (do i need more?) since utility bills are named to his father who is living with us.

4. Original and copy of each supporting document that u submitted with ur application. (wow? i believe i gave them all and they need another copy?)

Well, that would be all as of now. Thanks very much for ur help.

#1. Your passport is government issued ID. It doesn't have to be US Government issued AFAIK. If it's in your maiden name then your marriage certificate proves your name change and you'll be taking it anyway for #2.

#2. Would be the documents which show your eligibility to adjust status to permanent resident. As your adjustment is based on marriage to a USC as a K-1 holder, that means your K-1 visa and a certified marriage certificate.

#3. You could also take a signed letter from his father stating that he pays the bills. Alternatively, you can get names added to most utility bills - add each of you to a couple, perhaps? Phone the utility companies and ask how - in the case of our natural gas supplier, it was simply a matter of faxing a signed note from my wife (existing account holder) and myself saying we both wanted my name added.

#4. Yeah, we should all take out shares in Kinko's, huh? :)

Have your EAD and AP not been approved? You might want to call the info line to find out why... It's odd to get to interview without either being processed. If you get your EAD before interview day, take that too.

This is normal for K1 cases like yours when the green card is issued so fast. It takes 90 days normally to get AP and EAD.

1. Passport should be fine. Most states require SSN and EAD for a state ID.

2. I-94, NOA2, K1 visa, MC etc.

3. Try to get a joint account in US. I would also take pictures of petitioner with beneficiary's parents and vice versa.

4. They may not need another copy, but the IO can request the original of any copy. The VJ guides tell you to make copies of everything. Also, if the USCIS misplaces something the proof falls onto you.

I got my initial interview letter first. My EAD came couple days before our interview and was taken away at the interview. Don't worry about what comes first, as long as you already have your interview. Good luck!!

They took it because we were approved. You don't need your EAD anymore than you get your GC.
