Well here I go again...I was going through our documents so we could mail it tom. BUT THEN....I am not sure if I did this right......well I had a previous question about what name to use when we fill our AOS. and most say I can use my Married name...which I did.....But then I was just wondering...I have the SSN in my maiden name....and I could change my SSN yet coz my I-94 has already expired.....so if incase they look it up in their system.....and search for my SSN..they would see my maiden name right? Does it really matter? Ofcourse I attached our marriege certificate along with the documents......Wheeeewwww....I know most of will tell me how paranoid I am...just wanted to avoid RFE and get our papers moving...

no, I am suggesting that you SSN in your maiden name is not an issue.... get your greencard in the legal name you wish to be known as

We did the same and applied accidentally in my maiden name. And so I got all the papers like NOA's, SSN, EAD, AP in my maiden name as

well. But the lady at the Homeland Security office where for the SSN, assured that it won't be a problem to change the name after all my

papers are done. You only have to bring your marriage license with you.

But it's better to do it at the end. When all the paperwork is done!!! Otherwise it would be to complicated to have all the documents in different names.

And all must be verified and takes alot more of time.

And in our immigration interview we had yesterday. We IO wanted to sign me something. And I wasnt sure in which name to sign. Because

of the fact that we applied accidentely in my maiden name but I would like to have my husbands name. So I just asked the IO what to do.

And she said, that it is no problem at all. She noticed it in the computer, printed out a new form with my new name (yeaaaah) and I just

signed in the new name.

And if you want to get your name in your passport changed. You can do it in the embassy of your home country located in the U.S. :star:
