Legalize marijuana and decriminalize cocaine.

and that's supposed to make people happy, with the government controlling it?

just look at cigs - they are controlled by the feds - and the price on a carton just went up $12.

i wonder how that would go over with the weed smokers.

Happy? Still smoking?

it's an argument made by a few that the feds will do a good job controlling it. i wonder how many expected cigs to run $50-70 a carton.

Oh, the government controls it now....just throws you in jail if you have any in your possession. Just be thankful you're not behind bars because you smoke cigarettes.

Brother HAL, as you know, I smoke. Am unapologetic and rabid about it. It is my freaking right to do so as long as I pay for it and refrain from smoking where the smoking-police tells me I cannot... (never mind that people can get intoxicated as amoebas ingesting alcohol in the same damn places, or better yet, snorting ####### in the bathroom).

It is pretty damn annoying to be treated like social scum; while cokeheads, potbrains, active drunkards and IV users are not. Never heard of anyone killing someone driving-while-smoking.

end of rant. :luv:

would it make you feel any better if you was paying through the nose for joints thanks to federal taxes?

It would make me feel a little better. There's not much room for improvement though, I'm already ecstatic about the fact that smokers are paying through the nose. Even joy has its limits.

It depends. If the Feds kept it illegal to grow your own, but only legalized marijuana for purchasing, I'd be against it. Make it like any other herb that you have a choice to buy at the store or grow it yourself.

HAL 9000 uses nicotine wisely. As a non-smoker, he understands the beneficial effects it can have on neurotransmitter potentiation when nicotine is not saturating the synaptic junction. This bodes well when HAL 9000 needs to be able to react quickly to challenges, as during a seminar he is presenting. Therefore, when HAL 9000 buys a pack of unfiltered Camels, or Luckies, he pays for one box that lasts for several months.

Nonetheless, HAL 9000 has not purchased any in more than one full year, and has adapted other strategies to deal with certain challenges like those mentioned above with satisfactory results.

As for how he treats serial smokers... well... as long as they don't bring second hand smoke in his direction, then HAL 9000 is equally nice or mean to all. Except a$$holes. Those never get treated nicely.
