I feel so bad for my situtaion....my marriage is on verge of divorce....cuz of the embassy people..My interview went fine and at the end they issued me 221g requesting documents...i submitted them..,and its been over 2 weeks no news frm them..

well me and my wife fight everyday on phone cuz its been 1.5 years of marriage and we hardly spent 3 months together. and plus she lost her job because of recession, ....I tried to call her to india..but my parents are against from our marriage cuz my wife is WHITE., she is white american....but i love her and she loves me too...well, I am goin through a lot and i dont know on what basis they issued me 221g....well im soo depressed..and frustated....

i think 221g is favourite for new delhi embassy....

Sorry to hear what you are going through . Why dont you try e-mailing or calling them to see what's going on with your case?

I am sorry to hear your situation. All I can say is hang in there. We will all be with our SOs soon. I completely agree with you about New Delhi. Our case has been back with USCIS since February 4

I also suggest that since your wife is the USC, she sends an email or calls the New Dehli embassy asking for the case status. She can also call the Department of State and speak to a visa specialist to see what's going on with the case.

Your wife is as stressed as you about the visa and on top of that she lost her job too. I understand how you both feel right now. 221g is not going to last forever. You both need to know that understanding, patience and love will. Try not to blame each other for the visa delay. None of you can help it. Instead of fighting, try and talk about all the things you both r looking forward to once you are together. Its easier said than done but trust me, this is what is going to get you through this.

Your wife needs to call the DOS and the Consulate and check on the status. DOS will have information on what is happening and will be able to tell her. I am telling you from personal experience. Getting her more involved in the case and helping you out with it might also make her see that arguing will not help but supporting each other will. All the best!

hummm,,ur wife sound like me frastrated and stressed especially now that she has lost her job.

ok about ur case,sound like they have put ur case on AP which can last weeks ,months and some cases years,,my advice for u both to save ur marrige and bring ur wife to india live with u since she is currently not working,,,

I agree with the other posters. Right now is difficult for you both but this hump in the road won't last forever. Have your wife begin to make the necessary phone calls and emails to get the proper information as to the status of your case. Take one day at a time. Being apart is not easy under any circumstances but especially when there's job loss and a 221g involved. Good luck and keep us posted.

They asked for ma passport... Do u think thts a positive sign??? Is there any law or rule tht embassy cannot keep passports until certain period of time??

Please try and be strong ur so close. And it's very natural to fight and be stressed out for you both. This process is long and tiring but you are almost done. Hold on a little longer. Me and my husband are going through much the same thing. We are depressed and worried much of the time. And it's hard to be feel close to each other when you are waitning and hoping for so long a time. My 3rd anniversary is in 4 days and I've only spent 1 with him. We were so hoping to be together for this one too. We've been together about 7 months out of 3 years. It's so very hard and I know you 2 are desperate. We haven't seen each other in 1 year and 7 months. We are too.

But we also wait for the embassy. They say they are done with AP and waiting the CO's final approval but his interview was in Jan. and they told us that about a month ago. We have to hold on a little bit longer we're almost done. You pray for us and I'll pray for you and your wife.

it is the same thing,evry time u call they will say the same thing in diffrent words,some time they may tell u ur case is pending,some time they say in adminstative processing and some time they say the case under review ,it depand who pick up the call,

i know how it is ,i get soo depressed evry time i call them ,i been hearing the same answer for 6 months now.

hI,.. i AM SORRRY about your situation...actually..my husband was given 221g too: PASS ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS... is that whayou got from 221g during your interview... I know what you mean..it's so painful that way..everything is so hard..after the happy expectations that being prepaired for the interview then you get the 221g...

me too, i feel right now that my family is not being supportive of this petition right now..don't fight with your wife right now..no body understand you both but only the two of you.. If you let your family get into your love life, you will really fight and argue.. I know its hard right now but we have to stay strong..

I thought all sort of stuff about my husband..blame my family for not being supportive of this..now that we are almost there..don't let them get to you..This is just a challenge.. everytime my family ask about my husband how is the process going about our petition..I just answer oh we still have to pass additional documents and whenever they ask me when is he going to get here: this gets in my nerves!!! I just say oh I think later few more months even if not...

I just say of course when he gets his visa he will get here..then I don't talk anymore..

Sometimes, its better to not share what is going on in your petition of how far are you with family..sorry I know that they wish me well but I also feel no..seems like they are more happy my husband is not here in the U.S. yet because I am able to help my siblings and help around expenses in the house.. I also lost my job before honestly because I was sooooo depressed because of this petition...

but I am on my feet now and have 2jobs... My advice to wife is not to let this get into her especially me, I worry about my husband almost everyday... I know you can still work this out... When you guys talk together just don't share with family..remember marriage is just between you too... It is your happiness not theirs.. It would be selfish of them to say that you guys can't work this out and they don't like her anymore..

This is a very good sign since most times they do not ask for the passport until they are in the final stages. There is no time limit for them to return the passport but it is usually not too long. Look forward to hearing good news soon.

dont get restless.i also got 221g in new delhi two years back. twice...... so hold on dont loose heart everything would be fine.u can always mail them as to get through the phone sometimes is difficult. provide them with all the paerwork they ask for. as i m not aware what all did they ask fom u. but hang on they will be sending in aletter soon or your passport back with either visa or letter for additional info.
