A question about naturalization certificate

Hi all.

We received a RFE and they requested a few things but also my fiances naturalization certificate.

Or atleast a copy of it. (We did include it, but they wanted alot of stuff that we already included, odd)

He tells me now that on the back of the naturalization certificate it says that you can get punished for copying it or something, not quite sure, so can he not just copy it himself with a scanner and provide it or does he needs to get a certified copy in someway?

I'm so confused and I just want to send these items to them asap, but this is slowing us down, as we dont know weither he can copy it himself or if he needs to do something else..

I sent a copy of my naturalization to USCIS and I didn't get any RFE. I don't know anything about not being able to copy the naturalization. For work and other places, I've copied my naturalization and given them a copy of it without any problem.

At our oath ceremony, they clearly said that it was OK to make copies for legitimate business purposes, and that one such purpose was if you wanted to deal with the USCIS. The guy said something to the effect of, "Do NOT send your original naturalization certificate to the USCIS. We don't want it, and to be honest, that's the quickest way to lose it forever. Send us a photocopy if you must, but not the original".
