Congrats to those who got their interview dates and good luck to those who are (still) waiting!

I have a question: my case was completed and sent the consulate in Frankfurt, Germany, last week. But as far as I know Frankfurt is an Appointment Post, so why did they forward the case but didn't assign me an interview date? Did I miss something? Hubby called NVC twice and got the same answer both times: case completed and forwarded to consulate. The operator didn't say a thing about an interview.

That is strange. I understood that if it was an appointment post they only sent the file after the interview date had been set. Did you specifically ask NVC if there was a date set? I'd try them again and see if they can explain further. Good luck!

Anyone else have any ideas?

We called last week to see if our case was complete because the AVR said "received documents" (still says), somehow it wasn't updated. Response: case complete, you should be assigned an interview date this week because file is scheduled to be sent to consulate Friday at the latest. Yesterday the answer was: case forwarded to consulate and received.

Well, hubby is trying to call them again right now and get some answers. I'll keep you posted

That definitley is strange thing I have heard. But If I read it correctly somewhere here on vj NVC does not assigned interview date for all consulate. There are few consulate that assigned there own interview date to completed case sent by NVC. Others may input there experience.

Others from Germany got their interviews assigned by NVC last week. So I wonder why my case should be any different. We didn't file for a K3 at all.

I would just keep calling NVC. It isn't unheard of to get two different answers from two different operators. Maybe that interview date is sitting there waiting for you!

Great, every time you call them there is something new.

Our case is not at the consulate, it's still under review because it got flagged for internal review, whatever that means, but at least no RFEs. Hubby got advised to call again on Monday. Wonder what they will say then, maybe that we haven't filed a petition?

Thanks for all the support.

I think it's now time to involve the Congressman...Hubby is angry as hell about their misleading information and will file a complaint if it's not straightened out by Monday.

OK, got some information. Unfortunately our case was the one they picked to assess our agent's work because he hasn't been reviewed yet. Good news is that we should be out of there by next week.

I wonder if we can ask for being scheduled for an interview in April since they clearly messed up our timeline and our chances to get one in April! <_<

I hope so too, they should have sent an email or something but not leaving us in the unknown for a whole week and telling us all those lies about the case being forwarded to consulate. Why in sweet zombie's name did they have to do that during the scheduling week?

FYI, I was successful in converting K3 to CR1 since my file was already at the consulate. On march 30th consulate will process cr1 visa instead of K3.:yes:

Q,

Yes, she went to ahmedabad VFS office and she submitted following documents.

NVC appointment letter (3 copies)

biographic page including copy of pcc stamp by passport office in her passport (2 copies)

2 2x2 photographs

394 rupees

After submitting following documents, person that works at VFS office asked her for DS230 part1 and part2 but then later he said "oh you already submited that form with NVC" you are good to go. Then they gave her receipt for fees as well as recepit for the documents she submited. They also stick barcode at back of her passport.

Just to be on safe side always keep all documents with you when you go to VFS office because you never know what they want.

Good luck!

waithatter,

I am very clear about steps of NVC. But after that, I am confused/lost. My consulate in India is @ Chennai. Is there anything I can read up or prepare for after-NVC phase? Thanks for your help!!!!
