Thanks to all for posting on this site. All of you are doing great job and helping many people. Keep up the good work.

I came to US on student visa in July 2006. I went to India for a short vacation in dec 2007 and there itself got married to this guy in Jan 2008. My husband was on H1B then. He had his green card filed thru company and since his priority date was not current, he filed for my green card too.

I also filed for my H1B in 1st week of april 2008 as a back-up. In july 2008, my AOS application was received by USCIS. I got my bio-metrics done in sep 2008. I got my EAD in Sep itself and my AP in october. I canceled my H1B in October because I got my EAD. After that I havent heard anything. I checked my online status, and it says pending. The sad part is my marriage is on rocks and we might mostly end up in a divorce very soon. I have lost all hopes and my dreams are shattered.

Is there anyone with similar case as mine? Does anyone knows if my application stands for some quota or something like that? Any information, or anyone with similar situation do reply. I can again try going on H1B visa, but I end up going out-of-status from maybe june (depends upon when my divorce gets finalised) to october. If someone knows any alternate way or something please do reply. Thanks once again in advance.

2nd July 2008 - AOS application reached USCIS (Texas center)

10th Sep 2008 - Biometrics appointment

22nd Sep 2008 - EAD card received

8th Oct 2008 - AP received

Since then waiting.....no status change at all.

Married after knowing each other 1 month and now it's falling apart... a real shocker. Was he the first greencard holder you ran into?

You won't be getting a greencard, so you might as well just go back to where you came from.

There is no need to attack the OP if you have nothing constructive to say then do not post. You do not know what you are talking about and can not say that the OP will not be getting a greencard.

Thanks once again for all the inputs. I really appreciate that you all took time to read this post.

Well I just have one thing to say, that I didnt enter this country thru marriage. I came here on my own and also entered this marriage in a good faith. I was tortured by my mother-in-law and my husband thru words. They asked me for dowry (money and gold) all the time. Since this marriage happened in short time (thats how it is in arranged marriages), I thought maybe I should give more time and let things come to normal. But that never happened and the scars kept on developing on our relationship.
