you have to check the date that it says the form is effective. This is from the NVC website:

"Income Requirements and Poverty Guidelines

The Poverty Guidelines in effect on the date when the sponsor files the Affidavit of Support with National Visa Center or with the U.S. Embassy or Consulate, will be used to determine whether the income requirement is met. For example, the 2006 Poverty Guidelines, I-864P, footnote states the effective date was March 1, 2006. So, if the sponsor filed the I-864 with the NVC on February 1, 2006, then the 2005 Poverty Guidelines would be used. "

By the way could you give us a link to the new guidelines? I couldn't find it anywhere on the USCIS site.

I think any little change makes it very different! I mean, in the 2008 version you only needed $17,500 for a household of 2, and now they are asking for $18,212. My fiance makes $18,700... Now because of the new guidelines we are thinking about getting a co-sponsor
