K-1 AOS - I-693 - TB, Vaccinations, Cost

Can anyone who has been through I-693 hell recently tell us their experience as to:

- is TB testing required or not? (per new guidelines)

- which additional immunizations did you have to have? (per new guidelines)

- what was your cost to do the TB test, fill out TB section, fill out vaccination section (my doctor is quoting $140)

If you have had your medical visit in the foreign country before August 1 2008, please do not answer to this thread. Things have changed!

CDC’s revised Technical Instructions to Civil Surgeons for Vaccination Requirements require the following age-appropriate additional vaccinations to adjust status to legal permanent resident:

* Rotavirus

* Hepatitis A

* Meningococcal

* Human papillomavirus

* Zoster

The requirements for these new vaccines went into effect on July 1, 2008, however CDC approved a 30-day grace period for any medical exam conducted before August 1, 2008.

Just did this for my kids, they had to do skin testing because they are under 12 and its only valid for one year. they will ask if your child had chicken pox, if yes, then they will ask for a doctors record.otherwise, they will give the child a shot to make sure that she/he is safe from the virus. he/she will also get hepa a and poliovirus vaccine.Now, you dont need to spend alot for these vaccines.you go to a municipal clinic here in the states and its absolutely free .
