I am about to start the process for a K1 visa for my Dutch fiance, but am also looking into civilian job opportunities with the US Army in Europe.

At the moment there aren't any jobs available for my profession, but if something comes up in the next few months, that might be preferable to waiting out the fiance visa process, especially since eventually we want to be over there anyway. But there is always a chance that no jobs will come up any time soon, so I don't want to wait on the K1 visa either.

So, if I start the visa process, then get a job in Europe and stop the process mid-way and get married in Europe, would there likely be a problem if I later tried to file a spousal visa for him?

Thanks in advance!

No, many people stop the process of their petitions for different reasons. You're not doing anything wrong or illegal, so you should be fine.
