Sorry if this has been asked and answered, but i did several searches and could not find it. Assuming our packet does not arrive or we dont want to wait on it, do we fill out the electronic ds-156 online? I can't find the straight hardcopy form online now. Even the link to the form in the packet instructions on Sheriff Uling's signature goes to the online electronic version. Is USE Manila ok with the electronic submission of that form?

Thanks.

PS...When I clicked on the link to the ds-156k form in the online packet 4, it also takes you to this same electronic ds-156 form. :o

as of Nov 1 2006, the electronic version is now the required version. That is why the search, and the link now take you to that site. If you fill it out, make sure you have al the information before filling it out. Each time you click on it, it will use up another accession number, and they prefer you do not do that as it uses up their accessions, and bar code entries. It dont really matter, but it save s them a lot of entry doings, so they want it this way to speeed them up.

Ds 156k form is differant than the DS156 electronic form.

The link when you click it goes to the DS156 form and they dont have the DS 156k form there on the site.

Here is link to DS156k form-------> http://www.state.gov/documents/organization/82063.pdf

Mike, I'm sorry about what happened.. I'm sure you'll find a way to make them change their minds. An appeal is possible, isn't it? After all you've been through, you deserve better! Good luck with the next step you'll take!

Gracy_byron, thank you for including us in your prayers.. We both need it. I've just stepped out of my month-long panic, as the forms my fiance sent have just arrived (after 1 month in transit via air mail..), but found myself in that stage of anxiety and stress that one faces a couple of days before the D-day.

Jackie, thanks for being around to talk with! It's been a calming experience, somewhat. Until I looked at my pile of papers and realized that I still have to label those pictures. Heh. I'll see you by the hotel!

Welcome back to our balik-bayans! PW and Sheriff Uling ^_^

Quick question for those who stayed at Bayview.. Is it really as bad as some people say? I've already had issues with the desk people when I called (gosh.. bastos yung guy, hung up on me!) so I'm having second thoughts about staying there, but the convenience of it being directly across the embassy is something... Dilemma! What say you guys?

hi! i stayed at the bayview and had no problem. the staff from the valet parking attendant to the front desk staff had all been nice the time i was there  . next time u talk to any of them on the phone get the names before u start the conversation and give your complaints to the hotel manager when u get there (if u decide to check-in).

anyway, i saw a smaller hotel which is also across the street from the embassy, the Miramar hotel... it's much cheaper and since it is smaller, i guess the staff would be nicer as they have fewer guests to serve.

Thanks for the heads up. I'll make sure to get their names the next time I call. I saw the Miramar Hotel, too, but when I called them last month, they were already booked! A full month ahead! It shouldn't be shocking, as it IS at an ideal location and probably cheap too.. but I was still shocked. Hopefully the Bayview people will be nicer in person.. Sean has booked me online, but we're still waiting for confirmation.

For those of you who experienced or know for sure, does it matter if a girl is on her period during the time of her medical?

According to St Lukes it matters. Go early.

What if it happens you still have it during the scheduled appointment or the period arrive unexpectedly during the time you are there at St. Lukes? What are the consequences? My fiancee is worried so as I. Need opinion from experts :)

Hi cocopuff,

With your interview on April 25th, your fiancee's medical exam should be scheduled around April 18th, right?. She can go earlier than that.... 2 weeks to a month before April 18th should be ok. She can just time it so that the St. Luke's visit doesn't fall during her monthly cycle.

Good luck!

Gen

Thank you Gen! Will she be questioned upon entry at SLE why she came before her scheduled appointment? She still need to present her appointment letter right?

They won't ask why she's early. She just needs her appointment letter with her. Oh, and tell her not to glue her pictures onto her forms... I was given trouble for pasting mine...

Hi! guys,

is there any required size of paper for the ds-forms. I wanna print it but then I'm having second thoughts. is it ok if I use the A-4 size?

The original DS-156 and other forms included on the packet 4 are on short bond papers not on A-4 size so i guess short bond papers are fine. i had them recopied on short bond papers.

thanks for responding marivic.

Hello All,

We are home. (The WE is the greatest part). Got back into Charlotte Thursday after grueling total commute of 33 hours including layovers.

Travel was difficult (8 hour layover in Los Angeles at 430 in the morning their time, so it isn't like we could get out and do anything).

The Immigration officers were all so nice to Tita (Welcome to the US was the normal greeting).

The biggest thing I will remember about the whole ordeal was how bad Tita's travel agent was. She screwed up the whole flight and almost put us in a position to take separate flights home. But being the wiley Amerikano, I was able to overcome by going direct to Airline. Cathay Pacific, you are the best, thanks for your help.

Hey sister Luz, when are you flying home to Gary? Don't forget us here ha? Mari, are you in touch with the other girls who left about the same date as you? Hindi ba kayo naho-homesick? JelloShotGirl, so April 22 is a big day for you when your sweetie lands in the USofA.

Updating timeline of soulm8z and gobdogman (gee, this is the first time I've actually heard someone being required to undergo DNA testing. Embassy is certainly not kidding!). Welcome to our thread joemaria! Good luck tomorrow to maylet and kismet.
