Can I get a work visa while K1 is progressing?

this probably won't happen, but we just got out NOA1 earlier this month and there is a chance I may get a job offer in the USA. There is a work visa for Aussies which I could use in theory http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/E3_Visa however it's a non immigrant visa and you have to provide ties to Australia to show you aren't going to stay in the US permanently.

However, having filed the K1, obviously it is my plan to stay permanently. Does this mean I wouldn't have a chance of getting granted the E3 visa? And if I was, would it screw up my K1? :unsure:

E-3 would have no effect on a K-1, vice versa probably not so true
