Wow,You guys are really missing the point."This is ############"This is Refering to his own situation being fraustrated at himself no one else not the system Just his own personal situation. Then he ask "Any Advice?"Hes looking for a way to fix his situation.Hes not throwing it out saying its the systems fault. As already said theres two simple solutions to this situation.Get a part time job to supplement your income.Increase your savings to at least 3 times to what you are short. That would be around $940.

I can most definitely relate. I'm just starting out saving money and the full time job I have now is one of my first jobs. I also have a second job, but I don't know what part that plays since 1) I also earn tips (I'm not sure what effect that has) and 2) I'm barely getting in very many hours there because it's so empty because I guess one of the first things people in a not-so-great economy cut out is going out to eat.

So, let me just say: I feel your pain, OP!

I'm also not faulting the system. I understand that those rules are in place for a reason and though it may be difficult for me and my situation, I know our lives together in the beginning will probably be just as difficult.

So yeah, it's not the ideal way of starting your life with the one you love. Sometimes you just gotta vent!

Just finished reading this thread and wanted to say good luck. If you're worried about $313, you should definitely do lots of research about how much this process will cost. As others have mentioned, there are lots of fees involved and it would be a shame for you to somehow be naive as to the hidden fees you will incur.

-The filing fee is currently $455.

-There's the cost of mailing the package and acquiring all passport photos (around here, it's $25/4 photographs, each. We paid an additional $20 to mail the packet to the Vermont Service Center).

-Your fiance's medical exam will likely cost $. We went through a different embassy than you, but it cost 180 pounds, or over $300. Any required vaccinations are additional.

-Police certificates, for the U.K. at least, cost us about $50.

-If you've been divorced, or she has, official divorce decrees have associated fees (we have never been married before, so I can't give you an estimate for that).

-At the interview itself, the fee is currently $131.

-For them to officially mail us the visa, we had to pay an additional 14 pounds (approximately $20).

-Plus, many things, such as birth certificates, etc. must be notarized (we budgeted about $30 for this).

-You will also have to mail your fiance all of your stuff, and international shipping can be quite pricey. We've spent well over $50 in shipping documents throughout the process.

After approval,

-Adjustment of Status currently costs $1010

-Marriage license/officiant fees are costing us $100.

*There's a lot more to this, but we're not at that stage yet. I'm not sure how much you know about the K1 at this point, but you must wed within 90 days of her arrival and apply for adjustment of status, so there's not a lot of leeway after she gets here that you'll be out another $1010.

I'm certainly not trying to say you can't do it, but please be aware that this process is much more costly than it looks on the surface. I hope that gave you more of a ballpark figure. Best of luck! Where there's a will, there's a way, and VisaJourney is an invaluable resource :).
