I think lawyers are destroying the United States. They probably don't realize it, but through sheer greed, they're enabling those who only look out for themselves and will ultimately damage the infrastructure of this country.

As an example...

1. Most politicians were previously lawyers. Politicians are generally out for themselves and will screw over whoever isn't part of their major voting block.

2. Ridiculous malpractice lawsuits are severely damaging the medical profession. For instance, the number of physicians who specialize in OB/GYN have decreased dramatically and physicians often order a battery of tests -- whether or not it's necessary -- to simply cover their butt. That causes medical costs to rise and when this occurs, medical insurance companies are far more hesitant to cover patients.

3. Lawyers are fighting for the "rights" of anyone who wishes to sue anyone else for anything. This includes cases that protect illegal aliens or other frivolous lawsuits.

One thing that is for sure that lawyers in US courts have the right and power to override the will of the people. Common sense is also not considered by the courts. EG suing McDonalds because your coffee is too hot.

I don't know if Canada is based on the English legal system but such a case would be thrown out under English law. I studied the English law of tort in school (HD student in that class) and can say that doctors, for example, cannot be sued unless they are knowingly negligent. Whereas anyone in the US can sue for the most frivolous reasons. Something not permitted under English Law. Lets say I am backing out of my drive way and accidentally collide with someone. In the US: sue away. English law: cannot sue as I did not willing and knowingly aim to collide with a car. Nor was I negligent as I was simply backing out of my driveway.

Stuff like this is something the liberals in this country turn a blind eye to since lawyers and the legal system is the avenue of choice for pushing their own agenda. They like to mention health care or this and that about Canada or any other country doing well but always fail to look at the overall picture. Like not being able to sue a doctor for an accident unless the doctor was deliberately and knew their action would cause injury.

I wouldn't wish the US legal system on my enemies. As I would embarrass myself for recommending it.

According to the Internal Revenue Service, the 400 richest American households earned a total of $US138 billion, up from $US105 billion a year earlier. That's an average of $US345 million each, on which they paid a tax rate of just 16.6 per cent.

in short, you don't even have to get to the usa to get a job, just make it across the border and sue someone.

Look at the shear number of people on his property. How does he know they are not armed or dangerous?

It's a bloody disgrace that a US citizen is allowed to be taken advantage of for protecting their own property. This is clearly a case of some group looking out for Illegal immigrants to earn a living suing another american. What sort a dodgy legal system even allows that. For a group then sue the pants off people for frivolous reasons. This is definitely one of those stores that will be printed abroad followed with a caption of 'only in America'.

I actually saw an interview on this man. If anyone thinks he is some gun tooting Texan they are wrong. He is a good honest old many who is trying to protect his country. All while the US congress is looking at how to give amnesty to illegal immigrants.
