Hi everyone,

I need ur help regarding the filing of k1 visa. My bf is living in guam.we've been engaged last may 2008 and were planning to file the petition now. As I have searched through the net about the things to consider, i saw that his salary should meet the upper 125% of the us poverty line. He is working as a guest service officer in Hyatt, and he only made like $14,000 as his annual income last 2008 which means that he wsnt able to reach the upper 125%. Is it possible that we get help from his aunt who lives with him since his parents are both in newyork. Is it still possible for us to get approved in case there is an affidavit of support from a relative?? pls i need ur advise..

By the way, im 23 and my fiance's 22. I know there still are a lot of things to come for us since we're both young though, but it's been really tiring to deal with a long distance relationship and all that u ever wanted was to be with the man u truly love. I hope u get back to me soon. We have already started gathering up the requirements we need. We're just making it so sure that filing k1 with his aunts affidavit of support wont really matter much.. excited to hear from u. thanks!!

Help can come in the form of a US Citizen being a co-sponsor; from what you've described, this would be the best path.

Yep.. As long as the co-sponsor meets the 125% requirement, of course..
