traveling between N-400 interview and oath?

My husband and I (USC) are going to Mexico 2 days after his naturalization interview. It looks like other people in our area have been getting oath appointments approx 1 week after their interview.

Are there any problems with us going to Mexico? we are only going for a week. I'm wondering if its best to keep this to ourselves or to ask the officer who interviews him whether its okay for him to go to Mexico for a week.

As long as that week doesn't contribute to break continuous residence, you could freely travel with your passport and green card.

You will have to disclose it at the oath, but no problem at all.

Agree. We travelled to Mexico for a week between the interview and oath, no problem. The oath letter has a space on the back where you're supposed to answer a bunch of questions, of the form "have you done xyz since your interview?". One of the questions was about travel. You list the dates and countries, and as long as it doesn't cause a break in permanent residence, or push your total days out of the country beyond the physical presence limit, it's not an issue at all.

Definitely disclose it. Travelling's not a problem, but hiding things from the officers might be.
