I'd just like to say thank goodness for this thread - I'm in the middle of my immigration process, and I am currently tearing out hair with the waiting :P

My fiance got notice of approval on 25th August, notice that they'd sent the pack to the UK consulate about a week after that, and since then nothing at all, so I'm currently climbing walls. It is good to be able to track other people's progress here, and prepare for the last few stages.

Hi all :)

Have you contacted the Department of State? I called this morning and they said that my fiance's packet 3 had been sent yesterday. Are you guys ready to go? Has the police certificate been ordered, etc.. and got all the info together? Once they have acknowledged that packet 3 has been sent, the application can be sent back to the embassy to process.

Hi. Really need some advice on the d-230. I am just filling out the "have you ever had been issued a US visa" question. I was an L2 when a child on my fathers passport. I was an additional child on this passport, as I did not have my own passport as I was only 8.

On the d-230 it asks you to state the visa type. Now should I just put L2 down OR should I put L2 and include a copy of my fathers passport (it does not ask for any proof?). Just worried if I do include proof that this it will confuse the hell out of them and lead to additional processing.

Anyway have experience or similar of this, and any advice?

Thanks.

So, it turns out that the embassy now have my details, and they'd apparently sent me packet 3 on the 15th of September.

I'll send off for my police certificate tomorrow, on the fast track (many thanks for the info on that - big help). Much happier that I at least know where we are now, despite the setback.

Fingers crossed for a speedy process from here. Good news on your progress, I hope everything goes smoothly for you :)

Call DOS: 202-663-1225, press 1, then 0 to speak to a representative who will be able to give you the information you require. It costs as much as a normal call would to Washington, DC (nationwide call), no extortion charges and you can all as many times as you need to.

My fiance and I found out today that our packet 3 has been sent. We are trying to get all of the documents together and be prepared. He is adopted and has his adoption papers but not his birth certificate. Do you think that this will be an issue?

Ian and Lisa...Congrats!!! That is awesome! I had a question...on the checklist, did you put down your travel plans? It looks like you just sent the packet 3 in a couple of weeks ago and they got back to you pretty quickly with a date...just wanted to know if that is the case if we should do the same...Good Luck with everything!!

We said we planned to get married the Sat after Thanksgiving, but did not indicate any travel plans. We didn't do anything special, or request an urgent need for an interview.

Thank you!

Hey everyone! I received my NOA2 on Tuesday and am really hoping that my fiance will have his visa by early December. I know it might not be possible, I'm going to hope and pray for it anyway.

Good luck to all and I hope London continues to run smoothly and start to approve the visas we have been desparate for.

Our VisaJourney started July 2009 when I mailed the 129-F

Fiance here February 2010, married 10 days later

GC received in the mail 10-Jun-2010

Able to apply to remove conditions 12-Feb-2012
