I caught this also. They said they are going to be sending out new forms that will need to be completed for people trying to marry someone from abroad. They also mentioned it was a result of a law to help protect "mail order brides".

Sounds like IMBRA to me.

Glad to see something is going on for all of us. But I dont like how they call the people that we love "mail order brides". Do they not know that we've become so disgusted with the dating scene in the states that we've opted to find love outside of our country. Maybe these people that label our situations should walk in our shoes for a day. They might actually see that it's not such a bad idea to search outside of our country for love. I'm offended because the girl that I love is known as Galina not "mail order bride".

The one I love would certainly find it offensive to be referred to as a "mail-order bride," because he's a MAN.

I am not a practicing attorney. I have a law degree and I passed the bar exam, but am not admitted to practice because I got a job in legal publishing and haven't gotten around to applying for my license yet. Publishing is great, but it does not make you qualified to give legal advice. So I don't. I just want to get married to my fella, which is why I'm here!
