So close, yet so far. Good job Cardinals for making it as far as you did. Here's to next year.

With 32 teams in the NFL, if they take turns winning the superbowl, that's once every 32 years, if one team consistently wins, that means other teams will have to consistently lose and teams that consistently lose also lose attendance, and losing attendance translates into losing money. But have to keep the hopes up high, so they started playoffs to drag out the suspense. Also no more tied games, has to be a clear winner and a clear loser. Football use to be over by the first of the year, now it's into February, won't be long until it goes into March. Same with basketball and baseball with extended seasons.

Typically when a team wins too much, gets broken up, like the Bulls were with Michael Jordan, Packers were broken up like crazy after they made the superbowl twice in two consecutive years. It's endless. Ha, there is next year, right? But the same thing all over again.

Take the asterisk off the 2005 Super Bowl win, Big Ben came through when it counted and the Steeler's won on their own merits.

Nice job Cardinals, had me hoping there for a while!
