OK, just booked my flight back to Bogotá for the interview. Does anyone have any hotel suggestions near the embassy? I know my finacee lives here in Bogota, but we don't want any taxi, Transmilenio, or whatever other transportation problems on the day of the interview. We want to be under our own power that morning!

15 minute walk from WeLoveBogota.com to the Embassy - if you get the apartment located near the Embassy, and not the one near Plaza Salitre.

On a side note, across the street from the Embassy, the Kinko's-type places open their doors at 5:45 a.m., and are doing brisk business at 6:00 a.m. Welovebogota.com accepts cash only. The Airport has ATM machines making things more conveninent. The neighborhood is a good one, and is 3-4 min. via taxi to the Embassy. Watch the hoards of people walking to the Embassy, but be aware that they will give you inaccurate information rather than say, "I don't know the answer to that question."

Consulate: Bogota, Colombia

Got there at 5:30 AM and they started letting people in at 6:00 AM. I had a 7AM appt. and did not get seen till 1PM. Had a real dikhead for an interviewer.. Had us at the window for 30+ minutes telling us to each take turns stitting down then bringing us back to the window only to be told we are put on hold till I the USC goes to DAS for a police certificate..Now this is on hold till we buy a Pin to re-schedule a second appt. Expect anything there...

All I found the comment above on more than 1 Review of Colombia Consulate. Does the USC need a DAS Certificate.. If so, how do I get it?

I saw that review a while back and thought about getting one for me. It seems that it takes a day or two to get and most USC petitioners are hardly ever asked for it. Right now, my thinking is that if I have the time, I'll get one, if no I won't worry about it unless requested. It's a gamble but if it's only asked once in 200 or 300 interviews, it's almost a sure bet.

All I found the comment above on more than 1 Review of Colombia Consulate. Does the USC need a DAS Certificate.. If so, how do I get it?

I also read someone here needed one but can't remember why. They did not ask me. And it shouldn't be a requirement for usc but I guess they can ask for anything they want and we will have to do

Kenny,

The US citizen does not need to get a DAS certificate unless the CO asks for one and they rarely do. The only reason they may ask for one is if something does not make sense in the petitioner's background, kind of like a red flag type of thing. If you're clear of all this, which most people are, then you're fine without one.

Ok everyone I have been away due to wrok and life.

The Son had his interview today and Passed they asked hardly asked any questions. Was expecting maybe a DNA test but nothing. All is good so now I have another son coming to the household.
