Typo on EAD Card

My husband received his EAD and it had "F" instead of "M"

I called the USCIS (yesterday) and the guy told me that we had to completely refile the I-765 -- like we were doing it for the first time. AND -- include the $180 application fee along with the $70 for Biometrics. This was yesterday.

I had already scheduled an InfoPass appointment for this morning. We went. The "Information" lady looked at the card and handed me a blank I-765 to fill out. She told us to fill it out, take it next door to the Currency Exchange to get copies made -- along with copies of the EAD and the "cardboard-thingie" that it came in. (WELL -- being Ms. ####### myself......I had already filled out the I-765 and had many copies of everything she asked for.)

She told us to take the I-765, the EAD card (with the "F" crossed out and a "M" written on the card) and the ORIGINAL "cardboard-thingie" to the Post Office and mail it all to the Lee's Summit address. Now, I asked her three times if this was correct and she assured me it was. When we were done she said to come back to her and she would take if from there.

Well, 20 minutes later we were standing in front of her. It was then I told her that I already had copies of everything she asked for and all we had to do was go to the Post Office. She laughed, told Roy how this was going to be his lucky day and sent us to the EAD counter. There we got a temporary card -- good for 90 days. She said the new card would be mailed to us within two weeks.

Now......it remains to be seen what the people at Lee's Summit will do when they get the package. But, like I said, she assured me I didn't have to send money or anything else and it would be taken care of.

I will let you all know what happens.....

Hope it works out.

"The fact that we are here today to debate raising America’s debt limit is a sign of leadership failure. It is a sign that the U.S. Government can’t pay its own bills. It is a sign that we now depend on ongoing financial assistance from foreign countries to finance our Government’s reckless fiscal policies."
