Hi,

My AOS packet was returned to me and on the letter from USCIS it says;

Your application and 2 check(s)/ Money order(s) in the amount of of 1,010.00 are being returned for the following reason.

Mailing Address for the Chicago Lockbox:

__X___ Department of Homeland Security

U.S citizenship and Immigration Services

Attn: <Please check form instructions>

131 south dearborn - 3rd floor

Chicago, IL 60603

So does this mean I was suppose to file my application in chicago? because I live in Utah and I'm sure I'm suppose to send it to Nebraska.

Or is it because of my money order. Which I only wrote Pay to: DEPARTMENT OF HOMELAND SECURITY but I didn't write in an address

because I was sure so I sent it in that way. Could that be the case? are checks payable to address in Chicago?

Thanks for all you help

All AOS packets go to the Chicago lockbox address.

Look at the 485 instructions: http://www.uscis.gov/files/form/i-485instr.pdf

I'll tell you the truth. if anyone says to this mountain, Go, throw yourself to the sea, and that does not doubt in his heart but believes that what he says will happen. it will be done for him. Therefore I'll tell you, whatever you ask for in prayer, believe that you have received it, and it will be yours" (MARK 11:22-24)
