I also went to a 2nd appointment/interview last Jan 7th. It was with the same officer as what the letter said. They just clarified one little thing about my previous visa. Took only about 5 mins. It actually depends on your paperwork and your case. Some told me about the "Stokes Interview", so we expected that, but I was just asked 3 questions.

At the moment, we are just waiting for the green card in the mail. Goodluck to you. Go over your paperwork and maybe prepare for a Stokes.

so just inquisitive.... what happens when a deny is issued at a Stokes interview. The immigrant is arrested at the spot and scheduled for deportation?? or he/she is given a specified amount of time to leave and beyond that they can arrest him ? I googled to find out , with no luck .

Utilityman if you hav`nt shown any joint things together, it may have raised some questions. You can still plan it out in a smooth way sitting with the USC and the lawyer. Good luck to you ......pls keep us posted.

If you fail the Stokes interview, you don't get deported immediately. You can appeal the decision. In court.

We had a stokes interview and it was nothing. But our case was very strong, and my husband has just gotten nervous and stumped during the first interview.

But that's apparently not normal. They are supposedly grueling and long. But its basically an interrogation of possible fraud, so people shouldn't expect it to be easy!!

I really feel in my heart that the truth is normally detected by the officer. They are trained to see fraud, and they process MANY MANY CASES per day.

So if you prepare really well, and are in a real marriage, and have a good lawyer, I feel like you will be fine.

"If you fail the Stokes interview, you don't get deported immediately." what dp you mean by that ?? is the immigrant arrested and scheduled for deportation preceedings at the spot of the interview ?? or is he given some time either to appeal or to leave the country ?? If so then how long is the time ??

Let me look it up again. As we were scheduled for a Stokes, I did a lot of research a year ago. I'm sure I can find it again. You def need a good lawyer at that point!! BRB

From what I know they give you 90 days to "give yourself up" . basically leave the country and I think you can file an 90 day extension..
