this website very very helpful..i would really appreciate it if anyone can answer this question for me since im very confused..

well im still a student and i havnt been working and havnt filed for my tax return ..im a US citizen and applied for my husband I130 AND its been approved since september 2008 case is now at NVC..i need to send in the AOS but im having the hardest time trying to find a joint sponsor for my hubby :crying:

ok here is my question...my sister is married to a J1 visa holder..and my sister is US citizen also..my sister doesnt work either...but if they apply for a joint tax return...can i use theirs?? because since his income could be used as a joint sponsor..

other question is ..since i dont work what do i need to explain to the NVC for not filing tax return? what do i add in the letter?

plz do reply back if anyone is in the same situation as me..its soo frustrating for me now

a sponsor co-sponsor needs to be a USC or LPR... A non-immigrant here on a J-1 does not qualify

YMMV
