i'm about to send off my wife's AOS paper works. I'm debating if i should include I-131 form (application for travel document).. Since my wife and I had just a civil wedding here, we are going to the Philippines for the Huge Church Wedding that will be next year (May 8, 2010).. I'm hoping her AOS process will go smoothly... should i send this form anyway???

Agreed - submit the AOS, the EAD and the AP forms. The EAD can act as proof of status while waiting for the green card even if she doesn't plan on working. You never know when you might have an emergency and require a quick trip home and already having the AP at hand will safe you a lot of time and possible anguish. Hopefully the AOS will be approved quickly, but you can't count on that - ours took nearly 2 years and there were no RFEs or any other problems with it - it just took some time. The EAD and AP costs are already included in the fee so you might as well take advantage of that and use them.

“...Isn't it splendid to think of all the things there are to find out about? It just makes me feel glad to be alive--it's such an interesting world. It wouldn't be half so interesting if we knew all about everything, would it? There'd be no scope for imagination then, would there?”
