Civil Surgeons and Chicken Pox vaccination in the NYC area

Hi everyone,

I researched VJ on the issue pertaining to the vaccination supplement I-693A and it was extremely useful. I sent my vaccination record to Dr. Arnold's office in Austin and was told that I needed a chicken pox vaccine before they could complete the form.

I leaned about the option of getting free vaccines at NYC walk-in immunization clinics - http://www.ci.nyc.ny.us/html/doh/html/imm/immclin.shtml - but they only do it for people under 18 years. For others, they need a doctor's referral.

Another option is getting a blood test at a civil surgeon - I'm sure I have the necessary anti-bodies, since I was sick with chicken pox as child and had a small pox vaccine - but, aside from paying the doc, such a blood test can be VERY expensive.

So now I just want to quickly find someone in NYC area who will give me this vaccine FAST and for a decent pay?

This is getting so complicated and I'm already running out of time before my AOS application deadline. Please help!

EAD Approaval email- March 26, 2009

AP received - March 28, 2009

EAD received - April 2, 2009

AOS Approval email - April 22, 2009
