I am a U S Citizen who lives in Ohio and is filing for my mother who lives in Jamaica now.

I file the I-130 and sent it in to the chicago Lockbox and they received it on 09/15/2008

On 09/18/2008 received a Notice date letter from CSC with my receipt number so I can check the status of my case. And ever since I received that letter in September of 2008 I have not heard or received anything back from the CSC.

I would like to know how much longer do I have to wait for my next reply, and is their anyone else out there filing the same form for their mother who is in Jamaica or close to that location. I would like to compare and see why mind is taking so long would it have to do with where I live ( Ohio) or not, some people who filed in CSC gets approved in a month or two, what's up with that.

Also how much is the filing fee for AOS that I will have to pay and NVC fee, together an stimate of how much together in all will I have to pay, if anyone knows and can truly help me. :help:

This waiting is killing me. :(

:help:

Yep $70 for I-864, and ($355+$45 = $400) for Visa fee.

This does not count medical and local fees at the consulate.

When I filed the I-130 form I sent/payed $355

How much do I have to pay for AOS and NVC?

Plus don't they pay medical and local fees at the consulate in the person who u r filing for country?

From my understanding and reading the information link I have to pay another $355 on top of the I-130 fee that I pay to process the file that they got first + $45 and $70, So once they approved my file I will have to pay another $355+ $45+$70 is this correct?

You paid the $355 for the I-130 to the USCIS so they can process for I-130 for your mother, once it's approved they will send it to the National Visa Center. There you will have to pay $70 for the AOS, which is the fee that covers the processing of form I-864 and then you will have to pay the IV Bill for $400 which is the visa application. After that you won't have to pay anything else besides lab and medical work in Jamaica.

Thanks alot that helps, How long do u think I have to wait until I receive a approval notice, I sent off form in September of 2008 and I got it in that same month and I received a notice that they got it in that same month, so how much longer still do I have to wait to receive a reply back from CSC.

USCIS is showing that the oldest cases being worked on are 6 months old, so give it 6 months from filing date.

Be thankful that CSC is working on it, VSC is taking even longer to process.

I filed I-130 for my parents in the Philippines sometime on Nov 2008.

Yesterday (01/20/09), I received notice that my case is being transfered to the California Service Center. Went to the uscis website and it says that processing time in CSC is 6 months.

Cuban09, your case could either be:

1. Being processed somewhere else and not in CSC

2. Being lined up for CSC but has been burried in the stack.

I will follow-up by calling the chicago lockbox directly.
