Thats what i thought, just didnt understand why Vito enquired seeing as he's male unless he was asking for his wife. Well thats one less thing to pay out. Thanks for your help.

Vito enquired on my behalf as he is in the usa and i'm not and dont have a doctor yet, and he does and will prob be the same place i register with as his wife (once i become hiswife of course). we wanted to know if it was worth starting the course here or delaying till america as i am k1. hense why we found out how much it costs over there. sorry i thought everyone on here knew i was the immigrant and he was the usc.

Ok so we are scrambling to get vaccinations in time for our AOS interview. We got all except one for free at a community hospital.

The last one is the Human Pappilomavirus vaccination which was evidently added to the list by the CDC in May 2008. The USCIS civil surgeon says it is $170.

Is this right???

I feel that the HPV should be a womans personal decision. Government has no right requiring this as a condition of AOS or any other status for that matter.

maybe i have got it worng about how the viruas works, but thats how i feel after the chat with the doc. oh well i'll do what i have to, to be with my man.

I feel that the HPV should be a womans personal decision. Government has no right requiring this as a condition of AOS or any other status for that matter.

Actually they have all the right in the world to make it a requirement.

From the CDC:

HPV infection. Approximately 20 million Americans are currently infected with HPV, and another 6.2 million people become newly infected each year. At least 50% of sexually active men and women acquire genital HPV infection at some point in their lives.

Remember that it is a requirement for ALL immigrants adjusting status to permanent residence, not just marriage based applicant - so you may think it is unfair that they don't have two sets of rules and vaccinations, but that's just the way it is.

I got the same from my nurse, and the NHS website. The vaccine is designed for girls who have yet to become sexually active. And they won't let me have it free, as being 24, I am techically too old. What's funny though is the shot at the medical in London will be cheaper than what the nurse wants to charge me. I suppose this is what I have savings for.
