Uzbekistan / Russian Passport and Exit Visa OVIR Issue

Not sure where to post this question, so the K1 forum looked like a good start and here goes…..

My Fiancée / Wife is from Uzbekistan and She has a Passport / Exit Visa (OVIR) Concern. She is an Uzbek citizen with valid UZ Passport and OVIR. The potential issue / problem is she only has 2 pages left in her Passport and her OVIR is only valid thru Oct 2009. Now this is not a problem for our K1 application as two pages should be fine for the VISA to get to the USA and We ‘ hope and pray ‘ this will happen before October of 2009.

My Fiancée is concerned about going back to UZ after using up the pages in her passport for the K1 and the OVIR expires, should ‘ God forbid ‘ she has to go back to UZ for a family emergency or even just to visit sometime in the future after first arriving in the USA etc…

I am ‘ assuming ‘ that the UZ Embassy in DC or GC in NYC will issue Her a new passport and OVIR should this be required ?

Does anyone have any knowledge on this ? I image this would be the same for Russian Citizens also ?

Any suggestions or known approaches ?

OR are We getting concerned about ‘ nothing ‘ …….

Thanks in advance to any and All .....

Hello guys, it looks like my wife is in similar situation as yours. What was the solution for your issue? My wife's uzbek passport and ovir expired. What is the best way for my wife to travel uzbekistan? Will she be fined? Will she be allowed to leave the uzbekistan?

Thanks
