terminate previous marriage?

I have some questions about my situation. I was once married to a Canadian in civil in PI 10 years ago and moved to Canada. My marriage broke up and and legally divorced in Canada. I was granted a K1 visa and remarried in the US. However my previous marriage in PI has not been terminated. Divorce is not legal in PI except annulment. I'm in the process of AOS. Do I need to terminate my previous marriage in PI as well even though I was legally divorce in Canada? The consular did not question or ask me about termination of marriage documents from PI. I present my divorce papers from Canada. Is my divorce in Canada enough to proof that my marriage is terminated? I'm only concern about any issues would arise in the future.

The divorce is legal in Canada and US recognizes that legal divorce as valid, no need to deal with the Philippines.

Moving this to AOS forum.

If your previous marriage was an issue you would have never received the K-1 in the first place.....

YMMV

If the Canadian petitioner initiated the divorce it will be recognized in the Philippines. If you did RP doesn't! i think that's the way it goes!
