I-130 NOA1 Missing in Action!

OK, Finally, the 30 day period went by and I called the USCIS. They gave me the receipt Number and told me I can print it and attach it to the AOS application. According to them they had already sent me the NOA1 during the second week of December and I should check the local Post office. I am sure its lost. My questions............

1) While going through the USCIS online service, it states that the application was last updated on 12/11/2008. Is that the same as being touched?

2) Can I simply attach a copy printed from the website to the AOS application package? Will that be accepted.

3) Do i really need the NOA1 and how detailed are the online status updates?

Also, my case, though sent to the Chicago Lockbox, is being processed at Vermont according to the status check. How efficient are they?

Any help will be appreciated.

so if I read your timeline correctly... at about two weeks after entry as a non-immigrant you began the process of registering as permanent resident... I wish you good luck!!!

YMMV

I agree, you have bigger problems than the NOA, but anyway:

1) Yes (touch is arbitrary)

I think the receipt number with an explanatory letter would be sufficient for them to link records.

Maybe, But i dont know why its such a big problem. The intent to immigrate on a non-immigrant visa is how it seems, but when i had no intentions of filing for immigration. I came with the intent to get married and then go back to Pakistan and apply for a K visa from there. That is the reason i never applied for AOS along with the I-130. Now the way things are going in that part of the world, and with my wife expecting, i am thinking of staying put and risk my chances from here. What do you suggest?

If you had intent to marry and immigrate and you are doing that on a non-immigrant visa, then I believe what you are doing is not allowed - but I'm no expert in this field, you may need to counsel of others on this one.
