My fiance is self-employed and has been waiting on his tax return all year. They promised he would have it in October so I went ahead and sent my packet 3 with completed check-list. Then they said two weeks and nothing. He's called and it's like pulling teeth getting someone on the phone. My interview is on the 5th, and I have an email from the consulate saying that proof of ownership of his business is okay if he's self-employed. I have that, his business license, print offs of both business and personal bank accounts (including deposits over the past year), bank statements and his 2006 tax return. Do you think this will be enough, and what are your experiences?

For Canada, you're probably ok.

That is good to know. Just in case I photocopied every bit of info I could get my hands on saying how much he brings in. I tried to get a report of commercial rating concern, but because the business is only a year old and they haven't filed their first income tax return there wasn't much information. Also, all the billing is done directly to Medicaid so nothing showed up for 'total sales'.

Wish me luck! Only a few more days...
